Company Background

Lyndhurst Precision Engineering Ltd. formed in 1986, to service the tooling and engineering requirements of manufacturers in the nuclear, aerospace, medical and defence sectors. The company primarily works on bespoke projects, which are highly complex, highly variable, and low volume.

“Prior to working with Valuechain, we were using a standard Production Control System, but it actually inhibited our engineering and production planning processes. Due to the high complexity of many of our jobs, we often had to supplement the system with standalone spreadsheets, which meant we weren’t getting the most out of our system. Despite many attempts, we pretty much only used the system for booking on jobs, everything else was done outside the system. A major challenge we had was that we weren’t sure if we’d made or lost money on a job, until after it was complete.”

The high complexity of the projects that Lyndhurst were managing, meant that a standard MRP system, would not cater to their needs. By understanding their needs, we were able to configure our DNAsme system to the production of highly complex, low volume engineering jobs.
