British software company, Valuechain has partnered with Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), and Cloud2 to develop a B2B marketplace – the APC Electric Vehicle Supply Chain Portal – which enables automotive manufacturers to connect, collaborate and innovate more effectively.
APC is a £1 billion, ten-year commitment between government and the automotive industry. Their role is to accelerate the development of a low carbon emissions supply chain and deliver on the UK Government’s zero emissions target for all new vehicles by 2040. To achieve this ambitious target, APC aim to create an intelligent collaborative ecosystem that enables traditional automotive companies to connect with technology businesses, research institutes, and funding bodies.
The free-to-join B2B Marketplace is powered by Valuechain’s iQluster®, and provides APC network members with an effective way to connect with all other members and initiate collaborative innovation on new products, technologies and manufacturing processes.
Mike Woodcock, Head of National Network Programmes for APC stated “By embedding Valuechain’s B2B marketplace into the Electric Vehicle Supply Chain Portal, we are able to accelerate new business and R&D connections, streamline collaborative innovation and generate supply chain intelligence in a rapidly evolving sector that will underpin the UK’s low carbon vehicle strategy. The platform reinforces our commitment to ensure the UK remains the number one destination for low carbon vehicle innovation and manufacturing.”
Valuechain CEO, Tom Dawes, said of the collaboration “APC’s vision for a connected low carbon vehicle ecosystem is ground breaking and will serve as a much-needed catalyst for cross-sector collaboration between the UK’s advanced manufacturing supply chains. This will extend beyond traditional automotive boundaries to encompass aerospace, rail and nuclear supply chains, combined with new technology and digital businesses, to drive productivity and innovation.
The APC Electric Vehicle Supply Chain Portal launches today at the Low Carbon Vehicle Event at the Milbrook Proving Grounds.
