This week, Valuechain headed to Liverpool Exhibition Centre for the Smart Factory Expo at The Manufacturer Live, which brought together companies from across the manufacturing sector to showcase new innovations and discuss the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Our team was out in full force; with 12 members vacating our Cheshire office, and donning our brand new Valuechain hoodies. We were situated in 4 different stands focusing on different elements of our business. Our main Valuechain stand attracted plenty of attention, with companies intrigued to learn how our smart software solutions could help them transition into Industry 4.0.
We also turned heads with iQluster, our supply chain collaboration platform, which streamlines intercompany communication and captures multi-tier supply chain intelligence, on our stand alongside Hennik, The Manufacturer’s networked expert advisory team. We joined our partners, Northern Automotive Alliance on another stand, to showcase our digital solutions alongside them.
However, the main attraction was the Invest Liverpool stand, where we launched our new DNA 4.0 Virtual Smart Factory. Developed in collaboration with VEC, the LCR 4.0 funded project enabled us to create a virtual state of the art factory, to show how our digital solutions can be put into use.
Business leaders and exhibitors from around the Expo were fascinated by the stand and were excited to experience the latest manufacturing software, in a simulated factory environment. The virtual factory also featured on BBC’s Breakfast Show, with Shaun Farrington trying out the innovative virtual reality experience.
Over the course of the days, we enjoyed meeting with organisations from across the industry and finding out what everyone’s take on Industry 4.0 is.
As well as this, our very own Tom Dawes spoke on the subject of SME Digitalisation: Creating capacity for change, covering opportunities for SME digitisation and the challenges, developing roadmaps fuelled by quick wins, and creating intelligent collaborative supply chains.
Valuechain thoroughly enjoyed both days of the Smart Factory Expo and have made some great connections, who we look forward to follow up with. After the exciting event, we are even more motivated to continue developing our solutions and look forward to attending The Manufacturer Live next year!
